Job Description:
Are you passionate about inclusive education and committed to creating an environment where every student can thrive? We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis to provide support for a student who uses British Sign Language (BSL).
Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support to a student who uses BSL, ensuring their academic and social needs are met.
2. Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement personalised learning strategies.
3. Assist in the preparation and adaptation of teaching materials to accommodate the student's learning style.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student and their peers.
5. Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers.
Requirements:
1. Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
2. Previous experience working with students who have diverse learning needs is preferred.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support personnel.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma; relevant educational qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
Working Hours:
8:30am – 3:30pm, full-time, Monday to Friday, term time only.
