For Farmers UK Limited are based in Penrith and are looking to recruit a Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician. The role will involve; Mechanical and Electrical maintenance on equipment such as boilers, conveyors, mixers, grinders, elevators and presses. You will follow an electrical pathway on your apprenticeship; however, this will be a multi skilled role with training in both Mechanical and Electrical tasks on site. For Farmers UK Limited are looking for someone with: Good communication skills Good attention to detail Good problem solving skills Good number skills A good team player Excellent time keeping Safety conscious Good analytical skills As an apprentice at For Farmers UK Limited you will: Install mechanical and electrical services (e.g., Work on conveyors, replace shafts, bearings, etc. wiring systems, lighting, sockets, fire alarms, emergency lighting & heating controls) Read and understand engineering drawings, wiring and circuit diagrams• Inspect and test electrical installations Diagnose and rectify faults on a range of circuits and equipment• Use small hand tools such as hammers and saws Operate electrical tools such as grinders Install the systems needed for wiring and cables such as brackets and containment lay, pull and string cables. Purpose of the job Maintain the safety of self and others by applying statutory health and safety policies, procedures and regulations when conducting mechanical and electrical work You will operate the mill plant in accordance with procedures to optimise output and quality Learn to undertake plant and equipment repairs and maintenance to enable the mill to operate safely and efficiently Ensure that the machines and systems placed under their control are run to optimise performance Utilise the DSL operating systems placed under their control are run to optimise performance Manage the weekly H&S inspections in line with the confirmed plan Maintain site processes/std in line with the UFAS code of practice Environmental management system is followed and adhered to complying with BS EN ISO 14001/50001 Maintenance of appropriate records, for production, maintenance and quality Working hours Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm Annual Leave Entitlement 27 days exc. bank holidays Qualifications Minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in Maths and English Benefits
