Job overview
We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic qualified Children’s Nurse to join the Derby Children’s Continuing Care Team.
The team provides specialist care to children and young people with complex health needs in the community setting. These complex health needs range from epilepsy, enteral feeding, tracheostomy care to full home ventilation and includes some children with life limiting conditions.
These shifts will be worked in the children's homes, nursery/schools or respite centres either as a lone worker or working alongside members of the team when 2 staff are required.
You will be required to move and handle patients up to 70kg with 2 people staff/parent and wear PPE including FFP masks as required when caring for a child who is positive to coronavirus.
Main duties of the job
Using your knowledge and experience you will be required to teach, support and supervise our team of Family Support Workers providing bespoke care packages to individual children. You will also be required to work a variety of clinical shifts including nights, weekends, bank holidays and twilight shifts.
