The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) is the National Conservatoire of Wales providing pioneering performance-based training to over 800 of the most talented actors, musicians, stage technicians, scenic designers and arts managers from more than 40 countries. It is also one of Cardiff’s most popular arts venues, hosting over 500 public performances each year. It is based at the stunning landmark building in the heart of Cardiff, with an urban parkland back drop, just 5- minute walk to the city centre. The Deputy Hire Events Programme Manager will play an important role within the team that promotes, secures, plans and manages an exciting and expanding annual programme of hire events. Working closely alongside the College’s professional technical, front of house, marketing and catering teams, the post holder will deliver a wide range of events including performances, concerts, awards ceremonies, conferences, receptions, summer schools, high-profile functions, VIP visits and private celebrations. This post will also support the College’s Front of House Manager to recruit, train and organise the College’s Welcome Assistants and, collectively, deliver consistently excellent levels of customer care to all our audiences, visitors, guests and clients.
This is a full-time post involves working some hours that are unsociable. Initially, this post will run as a one-year fixed term post with a view to extension.
