Job Purpose :
To manage and support the development of Ulster’s research grant income in line with the targets set out in the Research & Innovation Strategy. The post holder will be responsible for providing a pragmatic, business driven service, to effectively support the strategic growth of research income. The post holder will proactively promote the research development work across the University and support a wide range of simultaneous applications for grants from a range of prestigious sources.
The post holder will represent the Research Development team of the Department for Research & Innovation and will provide a proactive proposal development service, including coordinating the contribution from academic colleagues and external collaborators and ensuring the submission of high quality, suitably costed, robust, competitive and fundable applications.
The post holder will also contribute to the work of the Research Development team to develop large scale, high quality and multi-disciplinary applications and with the wider Research & Innovation team to provide a continuous and effective pre and post award service to Ulster researchers.
The post will also work closely with the Associate Deans for Research & Impact, academic colleagues and senior University Officers to ensure that the Research Development team meets its ambitious targets and maximises external funding opportunities, in line with an agreed Action Plan for Research Development.
