We are currently seeking a Laboratory Test Technician to join our international client's team based in Brierley Hill, West Midlands. This long-standing company is looking for a Wire/Mechanical Test Technician to be primarily responsible for performing mechanical testing during final inspection.

The roles and responsibilities of a Laboratory Test Technician:
1. Conduct mechanical testing on wire products to ensure compliance with industry & customer standards and specifications.
2. Carry out heat treatment capability testing in accordance with industry & customer standards and specifications.
3. Analyse test data and record results, identifying any discrepancies.
4. Produce final inspection certificates.
5. Coordinate/manage sub-contract testing as required.
6. Maintain testing equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
7. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving quality-related issues as they arise.
8. Assist with quality control during goods inwards (e.g., control of mill certificates, non-conforming goods rejections).
9. Assist with calibration of measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers).
10. Be responsible for universal testing machines, hardness testers, lab furnaces, micrometers, microscopes, etc.
Requirements of the Laboratory Test Technician:
1. Experience performing Mechanical Tests.
2. Able to work well independently but also within a team environment.
3. Excellent attention to detail.
4. Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
6. Experience working to/with international standards e.g., ASTM, AMS.
7. Experience with microscopy is a plus.
