Overview of the role
We are currently searching for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our production department. You will ensure that products or services meet certain required quality standards, supervise the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations.
What you’ll be responsible for
* Investigating issues identified from warranty claims and/or customer in-use quality issues, taking ownership of any issues identified, providing a rapid response, determining root cause and then liaising with internal stakeholders, component, and part suppliers to discuss engineering changes and improvements.
* Engaging suppliers and the on-site production teams, working closely to resolve quality concern issues, effectively communicating with the relevant teams at all levels.
* Managing resolution of the quality issue, robust problem resolution actions, and closure of the issue using problem-solving methodologies.
* Representing the team in all quality forums, from initial investigation to senior management and engineering follow-up meetings and feeding back to the supplier network.
* Continual improvement of the Quality Management System in the context of ensuring key production processes, procedures, and documentation are in place to comply with national, industry, and customer-specific standards.
* Supporting customer and accreditation body audits as well as coordinating any resulting conformance observations.
* Handling various enquiries in relation to production quality-related matters from internal and external stakeholders and supporting customer and supplier visits as necessary.
* Maintaining, improving, and driving forward shop floor processes by promoting and enforcing compliance.
* Representing the production quality department at internal and off-site meetings as required, which may include supplier audits.
* Liaising with other departments to ensure delivery of conforming products to our customers.
* Leading problem-solving and continuous improvement activity within the production setting.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with key customers, suppliers, and approval authorities.
* Supporting the introduction of any accreditations deemed necessary to reach Delkia’s strategic direction.
* Identifying and highlighting opportunities for improvement in day-to-day activities.
* Working closely with all other departments to ensure cohesion and synergy between teams to achieve quality product delivery to the customer on time.
What you’ll bring
* Proven experience of working in a quality environment.
* Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems.
* Proficient in the use of quality core tools around APQP.
* Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, and Lean Sigma tools would be an advantage.
* Qualified to degree standard in an engineering or related engineering discipline.
* Experience in problem-solving and investigation methods such as 8D, CAPA, and 5-Whys.
