Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour in a school setting in Sutton in Ashfield. This role is permanent and full-time, with an immediate start date.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the education and development of children and young people with challenging behaviour. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1-2-1 support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities.
* Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns.
* Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
* Encouraging and motivating students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
* Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
* A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
