Buyer £28,000 - £35,000 Gloucester Monday to Friday - Flexible About the Role: My client is seeking a highly organised and motivated Buyer to join their small, friendly team in Gloucester. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of materials, plant, and labour for their roofing and cladding contracts. Working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities: Procurement: Source and purchase all necessary materials, plant, and labour for ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to budget. Coordinate and chase deliveries and site call-offs for the contracts team. Negotiate competitive prices and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Assist Estimators with tender pricing. Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier information using a procurement system. Invoice Processing: Review and approve invoices related to purchasing activities. Ensure correct coding and timely processing of invoices. Liaise with accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies. Operations & Maintenance Manuals: Produce comprehensive operations and maintenance manuals for completed projects. Ensure manuals are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with industry standards. System Management: Utilise system for procurement, inventory management, and monthly reporting. Maintain accurate data within the system and generate reports as required. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers. Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers to expand our supply chain. Communication & Administration: Respond to inquiries from suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders via phone and email. Perform general administrative tasks related to procurement and project support. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably within the construction or building materials industry. Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Eque2 is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational and time management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Benefits: Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
