Job Details:
1. Location: Grimsby
2. Position: Multi Skilled Operative (Compound Driver)
3. Type: Temp to Perm
4. Working Hours: Average of 42 hours per week. Monday to Friday: Weekly 2-shift rotation between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.
5. Weekend working: May be available on a voluntary, as-needed basis
6. Salary: £12.02 per hour
About the role?
Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Compound Manager and Compound Supervisor, you will be required to carry out all vehicle movements within the site correctly and as efficiently as possible.
Key responsibilities of the Role:
7. To carry out all vehicle movements within the site.
8. To locate and move the correct vehicle to the correct location.
9. To pull the correct vehicles for loads, ready for dispatch.
10. To comply with the correct parking procedures and site speed limits
11. To complete all relevant paperwork and report any discrepancies.
12. To support with valeting all Workshop vehicles to the expected standard, in preparation for dispatch.
13. To carry out storage and maintenance checks.
14. To Ensure quality standards are reached and exceeded for each vehicle
15. To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
16. Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.
The primary function of this role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility. Its associated duties are conducted in varying weather conditions throughout the year (PPE is provided to support such tasks). As you will be expected to store and transport vehicles in an outdoor logistics facility which also involves moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day.
About you?
17. To be successful, you must be over 25 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
18. To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
19. The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles
20. The ideal candidate will have a level headed approach. This is required when driving vehicles to ensure the safety of yourself & your colleagues.
21. The ideal candidate will have basic understanding of health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
