The team comprises 4 Pricing Oversight Fund Accountants who report to the Head of Asset Pricing. About the role Within abrdn’s Investment Governance department as the Complex Asset Pricing Analyst in this 12-month Fixed Term Contract role you will have the opportunity to ensure delivery of consistently accurate and timely daily asset prices for abrdn for EMEA and Asia received from the various Third-Party Administrators (TPA) and deliver projects, departmental transformation and change in accordance with abrdn strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities Undertake monitoring of processes and controls at the TPA in relation to asset pricing Manage, maintain and review Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Management Information (MI) from TPAs and vendors Ensure the delivery of consistently accurate and timely daily asset prices by the TPA making sure issues are escalated in a timely manner and appropriate and timely remedial actions are taken, including changes to the level of monitoring Ensure the appropriateness of TPA pricing hierarchies and consistency Monitoring of stale and static prices and follow up with TPAs to ensure validity Support the Valuation and Pricing Committee (VPC) and Investor Protection Committee (IPC) in relation to asset pricing, bespoke adjustments and market events. Provide complex asset pricing oversight and support to the VPC and to strategic clients Monitor the application of accounting policies and changes in accounting policies by the TPA in relation to asset pricing, ensuring these are being correctly applied and that any errors in their application are identified and addressed in a timely manner. About the candidate requirements We're looking for someone highly numerate with good attention to detail, investigatory skills, data collection and interpretation skills and business analysis skills. A process orientated person with strong Microsoft excel skills and an ability to articulate and detail business system requirements to IT. Detailed knowledge of complex asset valuation methodologies across a broad range of instrument types, particularly illiquid or structured notes. Good understanding of fund accounting and the investments operations environment – Middle and Back Office Good understanding of investments, funds, and the regulatory environment and market developments affecting complex asset pricing. Understand the principles of Valuation Uncertainty from the perspective of an Insurer. Knowledge of ISDA agreements, term sheets and complex asset trade confirmations.
