Who we are? Integrated Operational Solutions (I0S) Alliance – Part of the Anglian Water network, the IOS was set up in 2015 to concentrate on water recycling solutions and the clean water base. The maintenance and refurbishment of the key infrastructure is managed by our partners Barhale, Kier and Morrisons they ensure everything is maintained and improvements made where necessary to ensure the infrastructures longevity and effectiveness. What will you be doing as our Commercial Support Manager? You’ll lead the commercial support function to the Embedded Alliances and Delivery Vehicles (Maintenance Services) with appropriate commercial support management, financial assurance & risk management. Strong focus on implementing and embedding key areas of the commercial strategy, and ensuring aligned to Anglian Water’s Goals and Performance Outcomes. Key focus on driving contract efficiencies & highlight opportunities for further improvement & support the implementation of business improvement initiatives to improve contract performance & customer service. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the Embedded Alliances and Delivery Vehicles cost management, procurement and cost capture remains fit for purpose; Key focus on managing cost management within the Embedded Alliances and Delivery Vehicles with close working with alliance partners and AW Finance to ensure fit for purpose cost systems and processes. It will be vital to ensure that the Embedded Alliance understands and correctly applies the contract and commercial terms as applicable to role accountabilities as well as having adequate access to frameworks and supply agreements which are managed and applied to meet the business needs. Establish close working relationships with all key stakeholders inside and outside of the Embedded Alliances, Delivery Vehicles, and the wider industry. Always encourage a culture of commercial challenge to drive efficiency and enable outperformance but providing commercial support to business efficiency initiatives and through lean and continuous improvement methodology. What experience and attributes we are looking for: Work collaboratively with the Embedded Alliances Commercial Manager and both the Embedded Alliances and Delivery Vehicles joint delivery teams on all commercial support matters; Support of the development of efficiency initiatives relating to procurement, the integrated supply chain and cost management, notifying all key stakeholders of any risk and opportunity relating to ideal efficiency to areas managed; Support, where required, in the development of strategies alongside the joint delivery teams within the Embedded Alliances; Lead on ensuring the Embedded Alliances and Maintenance Services have developed and effective cost capture processes, from delivery teams through to AWS corporate systems, and working closely with AWS Cost Intelligence team; Lead on creating and managing risk-based controls and audits of processes and systems associated of cost management, cost capture and procurement, including assisting stakeholders with conducting actual cost information to drive contractual compliance. Champion creating a culture of collaborative working both within the embedded alliance and with other AW alliances, and the wider industry. What skills and attributes we require for this role: Thorough understanding of NEC3 forms of contract Working in a complex matrix team environment Basic understanding of relevant construction and contract law Must have expert commercial acumen Managing teams across a matrix environment Willingness for frequent travel across the entire AW Region for meetings and team management Provide direction & clarity when situations or information is complex. Think at a strategic & tactical level by balancing long term objectives with medium term project stages & short term actions & tasks – can keep all aligned & visible.
