The Forest Federation of Soudley, Steam Mills and Woodside Primary Schools
Our Federation’s aim is to ensure that the unique identity, visions and values of each school and their communities are maintained. The success of our partnership is underpinned by the similar values, aims and attitudes of the three thriving small schools, which we have used to form our vision for the Federation:
Vision
We nurture a love of life, love of learning and mutual respect. We aim to provide a stimulating and challenging environment where everyone is happy, valued and every voice is heard. We want children to leave our schools equipped with the skills to become valued and responsible members of the community.
Advert for Permanent Class Teacher
Our three lovely schools are set in wonderful grounds in the Forest of Dean. The Executive Headteacher has worked at Woodside Primary since 2010; we have been in partnership with Steam Mills since Jan 2020 and with Soudley since Sept 2022. The three schools formed the Forest Federation in April 2024.
Our schools are well known for being friendly, inclusive and determined to provide the best for our children and communities. We have developed substantial collaboration across the schools; we offer high quality professional support, well-resourced classrooms and a happy ethos.
All three schools are unique but share common values and high expectations. We are well supported by an experienced Governing Body. We have a unique and very successful structure for subject leadership, with one lead per subject (on the whole) working across the schools.
We can offer a permanent class teacher position and we are interested in applications from both ECTs and more experienced teachers. The role will initially be Steam Mills Primary, with flexibility to work across the federation in the future.
This is a full-time, permanent post from Sept 2025. It is advertised on the Main Teacher Pay Scale (or UPS1-3 for the right candidate). Job share requests will be considered.
