1. To assist with teaching 306 Stroke Module component
2. Assist with enabling teaching in the stroke unit and coordinating students

4. Helping with ward work as a junior doctor.
Ideally you have decided on Geriatrics/ Stroke Medicine as your preferred career or are in an allied specialty with an interest in Elderly care & education. Alternatively, you will have done F2 and looking for a new experience before deciding what you would like to do. You will have an active interest in improving the quality of care within the Trust. You will be capable of managing projects both independently and under supervision and be skilled at team working. Regular supervision meetings with a training Consultant will help you shape your future career.
The Stroke Department is keen to promote speciality interests and the Consultant body has expertise in education, simulation, acute stroke care, pre-hospital medicine, teaching, research. The consultants are actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medicine, and are involved at developing services at regional and national levels. The academic unit is recognized worldwide and has a track record of major publications, grants, and supervision to completion of MD and PhD candidates.

It is expected that the successful applicant(s) undertake full clinical/ teaching duties as listed below.
·Responsible for all teaching aspects of the Stroke component and Geriatrics Medicine component of module 306.
·Attendance in weekly 3 hour teaching sessions, as part of a planned ward round rota.
·Evidence of output for the non-clinical project time. This could be a research or audit or QIP project.
·Clinical work to be undertaken as part of the above activities.

3. Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
4. Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
