HSE Advisor Perth Based with Travel (Including Mine Site)
As a key member of a small team, this role will spend time working with FLSmidth facilities and customer mine sites to facilitate a broad spectrum of HSE related tasks. It will require a person who is flexible, understands a globally centralised HSE structure and can support a broad range of tasks irrespective of home base. A high percentage of the role is expected to be working with operational teams, conducting training and looking for improvement opportunities.
The role will require knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and implementation skills as it relates to Human Organisational Performance (HOP).
It's expected that this person can communicate at a high level with customer management representatives as well as internal stakeholders. Travel is expected and ideally the candidate is someone who wants to grow with the business, learn and have professional growth opportunities.
The FLSmidth HSE team is approximately 85 team members strong. This role is a part of the greater APAC team, which represents a smaller portion of the globally centralised structure. The role will support the southern remit but may have opportunities in the greater APAC area in the future.
Your responsibilities
1. Performs analyses of the work environments as a basis for required actions to improve conditions and meet the global standards for Health, Safety and Environment.
2. Inspects, observes and controls on site level to ensure compliance with HSE standards
3. Identified hazards according to standard procedure and establishes and maintains a system for handling and disposing of hazardous materials
4. Supports internal audits and training programs
5. informs high level HSE staff of areas not in compliance with standards for HSE or local legislature
6. Prepares reports on compliance according to HSE policies and standards
7. Reviews contractors, vendors and staff on site to ensure compliance
8. Supports in the preparation of reports related to safety and health inspections
9. Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including other who may be affected by the company's operational activities
What you bring:
10. Minimum Diploma of Health, Safety and Environment Required
11. Fantastic Communication and Consultation Skills, ability to speak with stakeholders and customers
12. Ability to perform a broad range of generalist HSE skills
13. Computer Literacy with ability to conduct technical analysis, report writing, program writing.
