Job Title: Utilities Manager (Energy & Water Manager)

Lambert Smith Hampton is a UK leader of Commercial Property Management (CPM). We are recruiting a Utilities Manager to join the team and be responsible for supporting our team and clients to deliver and validate utility, carbon and cost reductions. Identify and implement efficiency measures, low and zero carbon solutions and operational best practices.
Strategic Oversight
1. Manage content for the LSH Energy Risk & Committee, ensuring strategic management of utilities reflects prevailing commercial, legislative and environmental conditions, and that Committee Members are fully briefed on the risks and opportunities of the LSH managed client portfolio.
Utility Procurement
1. Manage utility contracts with utility brokers and key utility suppliers, simultaneously maintaining relationships, analysing and evaluating service performance and enforcing contract clauses and service level agreements to drive best value.
2. Oversee the Energy Brokers procurement and bureau service contract and manage these against contractual KPIs and service levels to ensure high performance and value for LSH and our clients.
3. Oversee and manage utility invoices, ensuring costs are scrutinised to a forensic level, calculating charges against contract and pass-through rates to identify errors, and negotiate with utility providers and/or manage our Energy Broker to ensure any overcharging is corrected efficiently and any overpayments are repatriated to the correct cost centres as soon as possible.
4. Keep abreast of Energy Market developments and changes, ensuring that the client complies with all Energy-related Legislation and best practice.
Utilities Portfolio Management
1. Manage the relationship with our Energy Brokers and coordinate with LSH internal stakeholders to resolve any operational issues to a business as usual state.
2. Manage and innovate synergies between suppliers, utility brokers, FM, PM and accounts teams, ensuring seamless flow of information regarding bill management and energy consumption trends and anomalies, to support the mutually reinforcing goal of energy, cost and carbon reduction for clients and their tenants.
3. Reporting to the Director-FM Sector Lead coordinate and liaise with key internal stakeholders within CPM regional teams and the wider business.
4. Manage any Manual Meter read submissions with FM and M&E Consultants to ensure high data quality and integrity for accurate supplier invoices and recharges.
5. Project management and implementation of initiatives with FMs and PMs such as smart Metering, Monitoring and Targeting systems, BMS optimisation, HVAC replacement to support client’s decarbonising pathways.
6. Oversee our Utility Brokers recharging services and coordinate deliver half hourly production data for HVAC consumption and sub meter data, ensuring all data is compatible with LSH’s energy management software.
7. Manage Heat Network regulations for in scope properties.
8. Direct and support CPM utility budget setting process, and, utilising financial and energy management forecasting systems, deliver robust variance analysis at a site-by-site level to support client’s cashflow and ensure the service charge is appropriately represented with market commentary.
