Job Overview:
Our client, an Insurance Managing General Agency that specialises in complex Marine insurance with offices in London and across the Middle East and Asia is seeking an Accounts Clerk to join their London Office.
Main Duties:
* Post journals on Sun and validate banking details.
* Match clients' premium payments and underwriters' payments on the ledger.
* Run and circulate the Aged Debt Report.
* Manage assigned accounts, discuss issues with underwriters, and flag concerns in internal credit control meetings.
* Send regular statement chasers to insurers/brokers and resolve queries.
* Prepare and issue broker commission statements.
* Investigate and resolve anomalies with assistance from other departments.
* Raise and issue deductibles.
* Assist with various month-end reconciliation.
* Provide ad hoc support to the wider Finance team.
* Be a positive, approachable, and proactive member of the Finance team.
Essential Skills Required:
* Experience working within financial accounts in an insurance organisation
* Previous experience with Credit Control duties, including high volume journal posting and cash allocation on accounting software.
* IT literate with strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Good understanding of how debits and credits work.
Desirable:
* Experience with SUN, Dynamics 365, Sales Logix, or Access.
