Job Description:
The Team Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all logistical aspects of the race team’s operations. This includes the transportation of equipment, vehicles, and personnel to various race & test locations worldwide, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. The role requires meticulous planning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
· Logistics Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive logistics plans for the transportation of race cars, equipment, and team members to all race venues. Create detailed schedules and optimize shipping routes to reduce transit times and costs.
· Coordination: Coordinate with various departments (engineering, mechanics, hospitality) to ensure all logistical needs are met. Utilise logistics software and tools to streamline coordination efforts.
· Transportation Management: Manage the transportation of all team assets, including arranging flights, shipping containers, and ground transportation. Address specific transportation challenges unique to the race team.
· Customs and Regulations: Ensure compliance with international customs regulations and secure necessary permits and documentation for the transport of equipment. Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
· Budget Management: Monitor and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and efficiency. Implement cost-saving measures and budget management strategies.
· Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with logistics providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met. Evaluate vendor performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
· Crisis Management: Develop contingency plans and manage any logistical issues that arise during the race season. Provide examples of potential crises and how they should be handled.
· Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of logistics coordinators and support staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
· Reporting: Prepare and present logistics reports to the team principal and other stakeholders. Define clear performance metrics or KPIs to evaluate success.
Requirements
Education & Work Experience
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, with proven experience in a competitive motorsport environment, ideally within Formula 1.
· Strong organizational and planning skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Proficiency in logistics software and tools
· Knowledge of international shipping and customs regulations

Work Environment Physical Demands
· Ability to work in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
· Extensive domestic & international travel to all race & test locations

· Fast paced and mentally demanding work environment involving machinery, race cars, and hazardous fluids
