Walsall Council are a ‘Wave 2’ Families First for Children Pathfinder, the aim of the Families First for Children (FFfC) programme is to transform the whole system of help, support, and protection, to ensure that every family can access the right help and support when they need it, with a strong emphasis on early intervention to prevent crisis. Those working in education and childcare settings are critical in supporting this approach, specifically where children have suffered abuse, neglect, and exploitation, or other potentially traumatic adverse childhood experiences, this can have a lasting impact throughout childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. Schools, colleges, early years and childcare settings, and other educational providers, including alternative provision all have a pivotal role to play in transforming the whole system of help and safeguarding children, promoting children, young people’s and family’s welfare. As a senior member of the Families First Programme Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a cross-cutting strategy for education within family help and child protection. You will lead on the development of practice in relation to family help and child protection practice in all education settings. You will also play a key leadership role in respect of the Families First programme and delivery of this reform programme in the council. Ethical: Aware of own impact on others through valuing openness, treating everyone with respect and listening carefully to understand the views of others in order to build trust. Consideration will be given to a market supplement to a suitably qualified candidate.
