Job summary Lead Recovery Practitioner, Rugby St Cross Theatres An exciting opportunity for an experienced Recovery Practitioner to join our Team. Rugby Theatre consists of 6 Theatres and a Treatment Room. We cover a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Neuro. Day case Ophthalmology, Plastics, General, Breast and Vascular. We are a Girft accredited Elective hub. There are exciting plans for further development and the introduction of new services. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a positive attitude who can lead and inspire a Team. As a Clinical Lead in Recovery you will be expected to deliver high standards of evidence based Post Operative care. You will be supported to develop your own skills and facilitate / support and develop the team to provide excellent patient care within the Department. We ask that applicants have a extensive experience in Recovery and can demonstrate leadership skills and qualities. You will be expected to lead a team in Recovery and at times lead the Department as Floor Control. Main duties of the job Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills. Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery. Maintain health, safety, and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures. Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies. Prepare, monitor, and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty. Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures. Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies. Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures. Continually develop own knowledge by evaluating and reflecting on practice. Maintain a professional profile. Create a learning environment in Recovery. Act as an assessor/mentor/preceptor to members of staff. Teach others within the theatre area. Develop and evaluate learning materials.
