A setting based in the Banbury area are looking for a Nursery manager for their setting.
This is a full time position 40 hours per week to start as soon as possible.
Salary £28,000 to £38,000 gross per annum depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
Nursery Managers take full responsibility for:
• Promoting and exemplifying the purpose, mission, vision and values of the Nursery at all times.
• Ensuring excellence in early childhood education and care, which is recognised
through excellent Ofsted inspection outcomes.
• Leading and motivating the nursery team in their pursuit of excellence in all of the
setting's activities, through persuasive and passionate communication and by being
a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and positive leader and manager.
• Driving sustainable and ethical business growth through the overall management of
the nursery, including business and financial administration.
MAIN DUTIES
Excellence in Early Education
• Have high expectations for what children can achieve and ensure high standards of
provision and care for all children.
• Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery and an uncompromising
advocate for the safeguarding of children, thus protecting children's physical and
psychological well-being and developing their resilience.
• Hold overall responsibility for the implementation of safeguarding and child
protection policies (including the Prevent Duty) to ensure all children are kept safe,
well and secure, and ensure all team members are able to do the same.
• Establish and maintain effective communication links with other agencies.
• Be responsible for the overall health and safety standards within the nursery and
ensuring staff compliance and awareness, including training where appropriate.
• Ensure that agreed high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all
times and ensure the nursery is safe, secure, clean and well-maintained.
• Ensure all accidents and incidents are recorded, reported, and monitored in line with
company procedures.
• Ensure all risk assessments and health and safety policies and procedures are robust,
ensuring staff, families and children are not exposed to risks.
• Oversee the efficient upkeep and maintenance of the building and grounds, stock of
equipment, furnishings and fittings.
• Ensure the physical health and well-being of children within the nursery.
• Order food, supplies, consumables and equipment to ensure the effective operation
of the nursery.
• Take responsibility for children's health care needs, including allergies, and the
creation of care plans.
• Follow all relevant Acts, including the Equality Act 2010, the Data Protection Act
2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/ 679) (GDPR)
that relate to staff employment and record keeping
• Adhere to and support all team members to understand and follow the legal
requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Support educators to understand and implement the Birth to Five Matters Guidance
through monitoring, guidance and training.
• Ensure the inspirational Enrichment activities, curriculum and pedagogy are
delivered effectively and consistently.
• Develop inspiring evidence-based practice by utilising current research on how
children learn and develop.
• Implement inclusive strategies for supporting all children's development through
effective observation, assessment and planning.
• Instigate the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record
child development, utilising online learning journeys.
• Provide the required policies and procedures and the necessary support, advice,
guidance and information to the nursery team.
• Liaise with Ofsted, the Local Authority and other professional bodies associated with
the nursery as required.
• Ensure a smooth transition of children from room to room and onto the next stage
in their education in partnership with parents.
• Evaluate the quality of the provision and outcomes through robust and critical self evaluation, taking account of the views of the team, parents and children, and use
the findings to develop capacity for sustainable improvement.
• Identify both strengths and areas for further development, which feed into focused
improvement plans.
• Support all team members to work in partnership with parents/carers and other
family members.
• Communicate effectively with parents and other visitors to the nursery.
• Develop a programme of activities to support home learning.
• Take responsibility for dealing with complaints or concerns raised by parents.
• Arrange and host parents' meetings/open days/events.
• Act as an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusivity.
• Work closely with the nursery SENCo to ensure the provision of a high-quality
environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities,
family backgrounds or medical history
• Provide all team members with the support and resources required for the early
identification and intervention for children with possible special needs
• Ensure there is appropriate and timely liaison with outside agencies and
professionals i.e. Speech and Language, social services, child protection team.
