Site Supervisor (Multi-Utility, Major Projects) Full Time Various Closes: 1st February 2025 The Role The Multi-Utility, Major Projects Site Supervisor is a pivotal on-site leadership role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and coordination of large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. This position ensures that all activities adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards while meeting project timelines and budgets. The supervisor will act as a liaison between on-site teams, project management, clients, and subcontractors to facilitate efficient operations and resolve issues promptly. Key Responsibilities: Supervise all on-site activities, including the work of subcontractors and trades, to ensure projects progress according to design specifications and contractual obligations. Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards to maintain compliance within regulations and company policies. Monitor project schedules and work plans, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget. Perform quality control checks and inspections to uphold high standards throughout the project lifecycle. Attend and facilitate site meetings, communicate project updates to stakeholders, and document progress through detailed reports. Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise disruption. Support in problem-solving and conflict resolution among on-site personnel. Collaborate closely with project managers to align site operations with project goals and deadlines. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in large-scale construction or civil engineering projects. In-depth understanding of construction processes, techniques, and safety procedures. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams effectively. Competency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with UK building codes, health and safety regulations (e.g., CDM regulations). Ability to work under pressure, troubleshoot issues, and make decisions quickly. Relevant certifications such as SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), and First Aid at Work. NVQ Level 4 or higher in Construction Site Supervision or related field desired. Previous experience managing large scale projects. Strong organisational and project management skills.
