Job summary Specialty Doctor Cardiology, fixed term Area: Carmarthenshire You will be part of the hospital cardiology medical team and be supported to develop a specialist interest in cardiology. In addition to the established cardiology medical team, you will also work in close collaboration with the broader cardiology multi-disciplinary team of Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Health Scientists in Cardiology in delivering a dynamic cardiology service within the Health Board and supporting implementation of the Welsh Government's vision for NHS Wales. This is an ideal opportunity for those wishing to develop expertise in cardiology or those wishing to enter a specialty training programme but needing more experience or working towards MRCP/CESR or those who have decided to enter a non-training post. Main duties of the job Doctors wishing to apply for this post must have full registration with the General Medical Council and shall have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least one year of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies. The Postgraduate Department in Glangwili General Hospital has a fully developed programme of guest lectures and lunchtime meetings, including special interest groups and co-ordinated intra-practice activities and career counselling. The library offers a wide ranging book collection, with interlibrary lending network, excellent IT facilities, audio-visual and conferencing equipment. The role will be based at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen - this is a fixed-term opportunity until 31st March 2026. The role will consist of 5 clinical sessions, with no requirement for on-call or weekend working.
