Workforce Learning and Development Officer We are on our way to achieving our goal to provide Outstanding support and care to children, families, carers and practitioners across Salford. We have an exciting role for a Workforce Learning and Development Officer post in a busy team in Salford. We are committed to improving outcomes for children in Salford and so we want to recruit an experienced social worker who is ready to focus on improving practice and supporting other practitioners to grow and develop their skills. There will be a key auditing and quality assurance role, but we also want to recruit someone who can then offer solutions, training, and mentoring to build on the strengths that they have seen. You will be part of a responsive workforce, learning and development team whose aim is to help practitioners to do their best. You will be located in Unity House in Swinton, Salford and working with a range of Services and teams, with flexibility to work in a hybrid way. The right candidate will be a registered social worker with experience of helping others to develop. You will understand the purpose of quality assurance. You will get a lot of support from team members and have many opportunities to develop in the role. About the role: As a Workforce officer you will carry responsibility for quality assurance of children s social care services to ensure Salford s Children s Social Care meet the statutory requirements and regulatory requirements, including inspections. To complete quality assurance work to inform an understanding of how practice impacts on outcomes for children and families in Salford. Engaging with practitioners across all teams to strengthen practice by providing ongoing support and challenge where necessary. To provide regular training, support and guidance to the workforce based on quality assurance activity and need. To ascertain feedback from children and families to give an informed understanding of their lived experiences and views in respect to services. To support the transfer of learning from quality assurance activities into practice and service delivery. To support in other aspects of the team such as the training programme, recruitment and retention, practitioner wellbeing strategies. To provide 1 to 1, group or service coaching/mentoring on outcomes of learning from the Quality Assurance Framework To contribute to the development of all service priorities promoting a focus on children s lived experiences.
