Trainee Lamination Operative
Your main responsibilities are to operate the laminating machine confidently and proficiently, as part of the secondary print environment, whilst adhering to the strict Health & Safety regulations and upholding the companies' quality standards. You will ensure that all products produced are to customer specifications will meet with quality assurance testing to achieve your KPI's.
You are expected to be a punctual individual who demonstrates a consistent level of attendance and upholds professional standards at all times. You will be dynamic and enthusiastic, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a great team of experienced Mounting Operatives in a fast paced / volume-manufacturing environment.

Hourly Rate : £11.44 per hour – Increase after successful probation period (3 Months)
Shift pattern : 12 hours – Continental
Week 1: Monday and Tuesday 07:00am to 19:00pm and Thursday and Friday 19:00pm to 07:00am
Week 2: Wednesday to Friday 07:00am to 19:00pm
Week 3: Monday to Wednesday 19:00pm to 07:00am
Previous experience within a production environment would be advantageous
Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting. Previous experience with lean manufacturing, i.e., 5S preferred
Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Responsible for running one of the company's lamination machines
2. Ability to operate all machines within the dept
3. Ensure the correct works ticket, is being used prior to Lamination
4. Ensure all documentation is correctly filled out and signed on works ticket on completion of required Lamination job
5. Understands the use and need of Radius system
6. Ensure working area is clean, tidy and obstruction free
7. Embrace continuous improvement initiatives
8. Communicate with Lamination Manager or Team Leader any de-faults
9. Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental and quality standards including BRC, ISO & A2 environmental
10. Organise your workload in line with the daily print programme, ensuring work is delivered against targets and customer requirements
11. Ensure that all established quality standards are met
12. Assist with production operations as and when required including the maintenance and upkeep of relevant equipment
13. Ensure that Lamination is organised in line with the production schedule.
14. Check Orders, process control, paperwork and requirements in advance of the plan, to enable production operate effectively. Ensure the Team Leader is notified immediately of anything missing
15. Provide overtime cover as is necessary and reasonable
16. Follow cleaning regime ensuring all documentation is completed

17. No Experience required
18. Previous experience in production environment and roles is essential
19. Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting
20. Previous experience with lean manufacturing, i.e., 5S preferred
21. Reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic about producing a quality finished product to customer specifications
22. Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the capacity to work to demanding deadlines
23. Demonstrate being able to work as part of a team and be able to manage workload, operate machinery to allocated schedules without direction
24. Be keen to learn new skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude
25. Have a high level of attention to detail, including numeracy skills
26. Demonstrate personal accountability and have a 'right first time’ approach
27. Preferred mechanical knowledge would be of benefit
A reasonable level of fitness is required, as the role involves some physical activity e.g., lifting & bending
