The Institute of Cancer Research, London—one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes—has partnered with Imperial College London, a world top-ten university, to train the next generation of clinical academics. Together, they aim to produce leaders who will discover, develop, and deliver the next generation of treatments, technologies, and methodologies for cancer patients.
This partnership will immerse early-career clinician scientists in the cutting-edge research culture of both institutions, supported by funding from the Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Clinical Academic Training Programme.
Applications open for Clinical Training Fellowships
We are now inviting applications to 8 projects for our three-year clinical training fellowships. The successful candidates are expected to register for a PhD in October 2025.
Fellowship Awards Include:

These prestigious fellowships are exceptional opportunities to train future clinical academic leaders in cancer research. Fellows will receive world-class training in fundamental cell and molecular biology, therapeutics, radiotherapy, surgery, and convergence science through the CRUK Convergence Science Centre at the ICR and Imperial.
