Are you interested in joining a new Psychological Therapies Service within a hospital setting working alongside Bereavement Midwives and Neonatal nurses? This post is the culmination of a four year pilot service which has now secured permanent funding and supports patients/parents experiencing the emotional impact of Infant Bereavement and pregnancy after loss. Supporting the Management Team Lead for Infant Bereavement, you could play an integral part developing this provision within a creative and enthusiastic team.
We are excited to invite applications for a newly created permanent 2 day a week Band 8A post in our Paediatric Psychological Therapies team. The Psychological Therapies Team is a growing, unique hospital-based psychological service. Having established an excellent reputation over the years, we are now able to develop the Infant Bereavement and Pregnancy after Loss team and expand across all three hospital sites within Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a vibrant multidisciplinary team which includes child and adolescent psychotherapists, counsellors, clinical and counselling psychologists, psychotherapists, art therapists, mental health liaison staff and administrators.
Main duties of the job
You will deliver a new service providing specialist support to patients/parents who have experienced Infant Bereavement and Pregnancy after loss. In addition, you will provide clinical supervision and support staff through reflective practice.
We are looking for a skilled, experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual, who is resilient and flexible and able to meet the challenge of this complex work. We require a fully accredited and qualified candidate who is able to work on their own initiative, as well as in a supportive team with a displayed interest in the link between physical and psychological health. Person Specification
Qualifications
* Clear accreditation and postgraduate professional psychotherapist/psychologist/counselor.
* Experience of providing clinical supervision, reflective practice and/or supporting staff groups.
Accreditation
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council or equivalent, such as UKPC or BACP.
Education/Experience
* Experience of working with MDTs to support patients and/or families with loss and/or bereavement.
* Experience of working in maternity or NNU, or with parent/infant.
Experience
* Appropriate demonstrable clinical experience in a hospital setting.

Salary: £53,755 a year (Pro Rata for Part Time)
