Enter patients details accurately on the phlebotomy system Phlebotomists will be expected to provide a helpful and professional service to patients and healthcare staff within the Trust and Primary care professionals, presenting a positive image of themselves. Check patient demographics as per Trust Policy, prior to procedure, ensuring requestforms are completed accurately. Explain procedure and put patient at easy, thus gaining implied consent. Perform venepuncture using protocols as stated in the phlebotomy manual Ensure blood samples are accurately labelled with patient identifiable demographics as per Trust Policy. Ensure laboratories are provided with timely, high quality blood specimens taken in tubes that are appropriate for the tests requested. Ensure patient had recovered sufficiently before leaving clinic or phlebotomist leaving the patients home. General housekeeping duties within the department and notify any damage to equipment. Ensure phlebotomy manager is aware of equipment needs To liaise with line manager of any training needs. Cover community dermatology clinics support in other teams where needed
