Job Summary:
The PPA Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across different classes, covering for class teachers during their Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA) time. The PPA Teacher will work closely with class teachers to ensure consistency in teaching and learning, providing engaging and inclusive education that meets the needs of all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering Lessons:
o Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons across various subjects in line with the National Curriculum, ensuring continuity in learning during the class teacher's absence.
o Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
o Engage pupils in active learning, encouraging their participation and fostering a positive learning environment.
* Assessment and Feedback:
o Assess pupils’ work in accordance with school policies, providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
o Keep accurate records of pupils’ progress and report any concerns to the class teacher or senior leadership team.
* Collaboration and Communication:
o Work collaboratively with class teachers to ensure lesson plans align with the overall curriculum goals and the specific needs of the class.
o Maintain clear and open communication with class teachers regarding pupil progress, behavior, and any significant classroom events.
* Classroom Management:
o Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom environment.
o Implement the school’s behavior management policy, promoting positive behavior and addressing any issues promptly and effectively.
* Professional Development:
o Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, staying updated on best practices in teaching and curriculum delivery.
o Engage in reflective practice, seeking feedback and making adjustments to teaching strategies as needed.
* Safeguarding:
o Adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils.
o Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the designated safeguarding lead.
Qualifications:
* Essential:
o Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or equivalent teaching qualification.
o Proven experience in teaching at the primary level.
o Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and current educational practices.
o Excellent classroom management skills.
* Desirable:
o Experience in teaching across multiple year groups.
o Specialized training in SEN or other areas relevant to primary education.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to engage and inspire pupils.
* Flexibility and adaptability in different classroom settings.
* Organizational skills to manage planning and assessment effectively.

Working Conditions:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
