Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic CBT therapists/Psychologists/Psychotherapists to provide therapy for clients within the Thanet CYPMHS. Good knowledge of disorder-specific CBT interventions for common mental health disorders in primary care is essential for the role. We are also eager to attract Psychologists and CBT therapists trained in other IAPT modalities such as Behavioural Couples Therapy (BCT), Couples Therapy for Depression (CTfD), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Counselling for Depression (CfD), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). In addition to individual therapy, there are opportunities within this role to develop and deliver evidence-based group activities and treatment for clients with common mental health presentations.
Main duties of the job
We are a dynamic and empowering team, and post holders will be expected to work well within a team setting and deliver an autonomous service as part of the role, operating within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. Post holders will be expected to work within the service's business hours (9am - 5pm).
Person specification
Qualifications
* Professional postgraduate training in Clinical/Counselling Psychology, Doctoral level or equivalent
* HCPC registration for psychologists (or working towards)
* CBT Therapist qualification
* BABCP accreditation for CBT therapists, or working towards accreditation
* Additional advanced training in CBT, EMDR, IPT, or other IAPT specific discipline
Experience
* Experience of working in CAMHS mental health services
* Experience of working with children and young people
Knowledge and skills
* Able to carry out highly skilled and complex psychological assessments
* Able to develop formulations and revise them as appropriate
* Able to choose the most appropriate forms of psychological therapy options to fit client need while working within IAPT guidelines
