About Houzecheck
Houzecheck is an ambitious, fast-growing PE-backed technology company committed to disrupting the residential surveying market in the UK. We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and manage onsite and offshore IT development teams resulting in successful delivery of IT projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of project management methodologies, and the ability to effectively manage resources and timelines.
This is a senior role reporting to the founding Director. The role has the potential to evolve into Head of Product and Engineering.
Role
You will have the overall responsibility for management of existing IT systems and delivery of new IT projects. Houzecheck has a suite of technologies both off-the-shelf and custom developed. The candidate will take ownership of all current and new IT systems.
The business is being backed by private equity investment and has ambitious plans to invest in the technology in line with the revenue growth. You will lead the team professionally to deliver IT projects on time, budget and scope.
Excellent management skills are required to keep the team energy, motivation, clarity and sense of purpose high. You will need to lead by example, in all aspects of your own conduct and performance so that you gain the team’s trust and respect.
You will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. Conducting one-to-one and team meetings, ensuring the team is kept up-to-date with the roadmap, plans, priorities, information and changes.
Key Responsibilities
•\tDevelop understanding and ownership of existing IT systems
•\tDevelop and own roadmap for future IT projects
•\tPlan and lead the successful delivery of all IT projects
•\tManage the team of developers, business analyst, QA analyst, designer etc.
•\tWork with business stakeholders to define the scope and requirements for new projects
•\tManage the end-to-end software development lifecycle
•\tProduce documentation including project scope, project plan, project deliverables, release notes and user guides
•\tManage day-to-day operational aspects of the projects
•\tWork closely with business stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects
•\tKeep management up-to-date on the project status; review bugs, plan releases, anticipate and react to change
•\tReview and manage risk and issue registers for the provision of mitigation or remediation actions
Skills, experience & attributes required
•\tMinimum 10 years’ experience in a software/IT environment with business systems, custom development, CRM and websites
•\tMinimum 5 years’ experience as IT Project Manager, Product Manager, Engineering Manager or Technical Lead
•\tAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft products, including Project, Visio, Excel and Word
•\tExperience of successfully managing small to mid-sized IT projects
•\tExperience working in start-ups or fast-growing tech environments.
•\tUnderstanding of technology architecture and component
•\tPreferably grown from a technical background
•\tResults-oriented and customer focused
•\tProven track record of problem solving
•\tExcellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with the ability to influence
•\tPeople management experience with the ability to motivate others
•\tDemonstrable experience of working with distributed development teams in UK and India
•\tDrive to achieve and exceed targets
