Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated assistant psychologist to join the Adult CLDT Trafford Team based at Sale Waterside.
The successful applicant will be well supported by a Clinical Psychologist and will have access to regular supervision and a personal development plan with opportunities to further develop their skills.
The Adult CLDT Trafford is part of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust (CWP), which provides comprehensive learning disability services across the Cheshire, Wirral and Trafford. The team links closely into the wider learning disability care group within CWP, and has excellent governance and support structures.
The post requires an enthusiasm and commitment to working with adults with learning disabilities within a person-centred approach.
If you are looking for a new challenge, enjoy variety in your work and wish to be part of a team who are actively working to make a difference to adults with learning disabilities and their families then this is the post for you!
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the existing psychology team to support psychology provision. In addition to direct work with service users there is a particular focus on supporting the team with formulation and advice and consultation clinics. We would also encourage the post holder to be involved in broader service and professional issues, such as training and research.
We are confident that we can support ongoing professional development that is sensitive to the needs of the individual, their interests and the often under recognised psychological needs of this client group.
