This role reports to the Crew Optimisation Manager and is responsible for the monthly production of optimal crew pairings and roster optimiser solutions. The role is also required to complete detailed analysis to create pairings and rosters which are resilient, cost-effective and meet all quality, legal & union requirements.
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating safe, legal, and cost-effective crew pairings on a monthly basis, ensuring full compliance with Flight Time Limitations (FTL), company policies and industrial agreements. You will oversee the end-to-end monthly roster production process, including setting parameters, managing data extracts, coordinating re-runs, and delivering compliant solutions to the Rostering Team.
Using detailed analysis, you will develop optimized crew pairing and roster solutions that align with the commercial schedule, crew availability, and any pre-assigned duties. You’ll regularly review pairings using analytical tools and Excel, making recommendations to re-plan, adjust, or redistribute pairings to improve efficiency and performance.
You will also generate ad-hoc reports using various systems, collect relevant data, and provide actionable insights. Post-production, you’ll evaluate roster solutions and adjust parameters in the Roster and Pairings Optimisers for future planning cycles.
Requirements of the Role
What you’ll need to do the role:
This role requires a relevant College or University degree, along with a minimum of two years' experience in rostering and pairing optimisation. You'll need excellent Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial, as is a desire to positively challenge for better roster solutions. You should possess analytical experience, including the ability to understand details, extract data, and use it to improve product. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with stakeholder management experience, are necessary. You must be able to translate technical data into simple language for various audiences. Knowledge of EASA FTL, Fatigue Risk Management, or other national crew compliance regulations is advantageous. If you have experience in these areas, we’d love to hear from you.

Location & Hours of Work:
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
