Business Development Manager at Navigator MSL
Navigator MSL was first formed in 1936, under the name Metal Supplies Ltd and has been in the same premises for over 40 years, based in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire.
We are an independently owned business and our owners are extremely proactive in pushing Navigator to the next level. Currently undergoing a huge renovation of our older offices and warehouse, due for completion in Q1 2025.
The ideal candidate will have experience in all stages of the sales cycle. They should be confident in building new client relationships and maintaining existing ones. They should have evidence of strong sales skills and possess good negotiation abilities.
Responsibilities
Business Development Executives are responsible for a variety of duties related mainly to retaining and growing existing business and attracting new business. Their duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Customers are predominantly large/multi-branch, national accounts, and OEM manufacturing businesses.
* Researching businesses, individuals, and industry trends to identify potential new customers and markets and ways to serve existing customers better.
* Preparing stock reports to liaise with customer inventory teams and having meetings to discuss potential product supply issues.
* Inputting large orders, ensuring the customer is made aware of any delivery dates and stock availability.
* Admin work for all accounts as and when required.
* Working with the warehouse team and booking in orders with goods-in teams for businesses.
* Meeting new and existing clients in person as well as on Microsoft Teams.
* Working with senior team members to manage risks, projects, and product development.
* Logging all plans and keeping up to date.
* Keeping customers updated throughout projects.
* Setting sales goals and strategies and ensuring these are met.
Skills and Attributes
* Extremely proficient in using Microsoft Office.
* Able to work with all areas within the business.
* Able to understand the sales and purchase process.
* Able to communicate effectively.
* Moderate Excel skills.

8.30am-5pm Mon-Fri 1 hour lunch-break
23 days holiday (pro-rata) plus Bank holidays
£20 per month towards Gym membership
Xmas shutdown (save 3 annual leave days)
