About the role An opportunity has arisen for an Academic Casework Officer to join the Student Administration team at the University of Sussex. We are seeking a highly motivated and confident individual who has a demonstrable understanding of regulations and procedures, and who would enjoy developing a detailed understanding of how to apply regulations and procedures objectively and equitably while also being sensitive to students’ needs. As part of the wider Student Administration team, the postholder will work with the Academic Casework Manager and two other Academic Casework officers, in processing Exceptional Circumstance Claims and academic appeals. A key part of the role requires the ability to communicate in writing, complex and sensitive points with high levels of accuracy, diplomacy and attention to detail. About you You will have a demonstrable understanding of working within regulations and procedures within a large organisation, ideally within an HE setting. A good understanding of the challenges that students from varied backgrounds often face would be advantageous. You will have the skills to manage your own workload, prioritise accordingly and be confident in using your judgement when making Exceptional Circumstance and Academic Appeal decisions.
