Maintenance Engineer\n\nRandstad are recruiting for Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to come and work for an manufacturing business based in Nottingham.\n\nThis is a permanent position paying between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs a maintenance engineer you will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery. You will use computerized systems to oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs.\nMaintenance engineers are also involved in control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance. They play a vital role in the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing industries.\nMaintenance engineers work with other professionals in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesigning maintenance strategies, procedures and methods\nCarrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults\nDiagnosing breakdown problems\nFitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly\nCarrying out quality inspections on jobs\nLiaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues\nArranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components\nControlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment\nDealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs\nImproving health and safety policies and procedures\nWorking with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on our production lines\nEnsuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdownSkills\n\nYou will need to show:\n\nThe capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures\nTeam working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels\nGood diagnostic and problem-solving skills\nThe confidence to respond positively when under pressureQualifications\n\nYou will need to show:\n\nNVQ, C&G or BTEC level 3 as a minimum in mechanical or electrical engineering\n18th edition (desirable)Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
