Internal Job Title: Systems Test Engineer, FTC 12-month Business: Lucy Zodion Location: Sowerby Bridge Job Reference No: 3719 Job Purpose: The ideal candidate will work with the Technology Team on all parts of projects to ensure that designs meet the necessary specifications and defined certification requirements derived from market research activities. Our range includes photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeder pillars, isolators, cut outs and switchgear. Job Context: Working alongside the Development Team to ensure products are developed, tested and documented results recorded within the given development time frame. Develop and execute test plans to validate electronics hardware, firmware functionality and physical product hardware/enclosures against requirements and specifications. Identify, report and track product defects and issues. Perform functional, performance, certification and ongoing product validation of streetlighting products. Job Dimensions: You will be the sole owner of product test and validation You will be the voice of approval / release on all stage gates and reviews Act as a pivotal part of the Technology Team Input to all projects from the off set to ensure product compliance can be achieved Ensure Lucy Zodion are at the forefront of technology and market leaders within the Streetlighting arena. Have commercial sensitivity when liaising with external collaborators and 3rd party suppliers. Key Accountabilities: Here at Lucy Zodion, we are pushing the boundaries on the detection of light at dusk and dawn and the complexities that brings, as well as the development and refinement of solar clocks for part night control. You would be the driving force behind test and development activities in a refresh of the product range using new technologies and designs to combat evolving complexities around cost, sustainability and energy conservation facing our streetlighting customers: Developing, documenting and completing product test specifications and plans Identifying, communicating and resolving any issues with the Technology Team Constantly reviewing and improving all test requirements Releasing product to specification and fit for market Ensuring the product meets all defined certification requirements Providing test plan records for future review Providing input on project requirements Providing specifications and recommendations working with Process Engineering on production validation methods/processes/equipment. The role sits in the Technology Team, which has multi-discipline resource including: Electronics Hardware Embedded Firmware Process Engineering Project Management Access to external resource Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years Systems / Product Test Similar environment (High technology, connected devices, lighting) Relevant qualifications (ISTQB, electronic / electrical / software) Job Specific Skills: Experience developing of embedded C and other industry standard coding methodologies Experience of Unit / System testing to validate and document firmware development Experience of the full firmware development lifecycle from concept to delivery Beneficial Skills: Ability to convert project requirements into a technical test specification Proven experience of test plan implementation Proven experience of automating tests Experience in functional programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C++, etc ) Behavioural Competencies Self-starter Problem solver Ability to express any concerns to the project team from the offset Keen eye for detail Accurate and concise report writing skills Ability to make your voice heard across the business Does this sound interesting?
