Lead Floating Foundations Engineer

Up to £75,000 (negotiable) + Bonus
Eden Scott are pleased to be partnering with their Offshore Wind Developer client to appoint a Lead Floating Foundations Engineer. The Lead Floating Foundations Engineer will be instrumental in the development of a 1 GW Offshore Wind Project by driving the FLU selection process, providing technical input to site selection, producing project specifications, managing consultants and contractors and providing information to contract and reporting documents.
The role can be based from their office in Scotland, France or Spain.
Role
1. Providing engineering support to offshore wind site selection and participation in technical meetings.
2. Focus on floating offshore wind projects and commercialisation for floating offshore wind projects.
3. Lead the design and analysis of floating Substructures, mooring and anchoring systems for floating wind projects at various stages of the project (PreFEED, FEED and Detail Design)
4. Translating engineering issues in CAPEX and OPEX
5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to Designer consultant engineers and team members
6. Identifying and mitigating reasonably foreseeable risks related to substructure mooring and anchors.
7. Ensuring that Designers fulfil their duties and collaborate effectively with one another.
8. Conducting regular audits and monitoring Designer compliance with CDM regulations.
9. Technical engagement with external consultants, contractors, independent engineers, lenders engineers, and utility and grid companies as required.

16. Demonstrable experience working in offshore wind
17. Primary degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant discipline for offshore engineering.
18. Experience in the design or installation of floating foundations is highly
19. Experience in offshore wind site selection and offshore
20. Knowledge of offshore wind foundation types, ground conditions interpretation and foundation, array cable and turbine installation procedures.
21. Solid working knowledge of foundation design, dynamic analysis (floating systems), hydrodynamics, loading in wind, waves and currents, structural dynamics and fatigue, and the design of plated structures, mooring and anchor systems.
22. Knowledge of international structural and marine design codes and standards in the offshore wind industry.
23. Strong influencing and communication skills, including a record of delivering results through others, and demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
24. Ability to translate engineering issues into CAPEX and OPEX
25. Knowledge of the offshore windfarm development and foundation design
26. Understanding of wind turbine technology and the issues involved with grid
27. Experience in the preparation of technical specifications and other technical documents
28. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and, in particular, Health and Safety issues offshore.
29. Knowledge of grid connection solutions for offshore wind is desirable but not essential
