Are you an experienced teaching assistant looking for work with students with special educational needs (SEN)? Do you want a flexible role with the opportunity to work on a supply basis across various SEN schools in and around the Teignbridge area? If so, this could be the perfect role for you!
Long-Term Teachers supporting several SEN schools seeking adaptable support staff to cover staff absences. If you prove to be an excellent addition to the team, there may be opportunities to make your contract permanent.
To be considered for this role, previous experience in a SEN setting - whether early years, primary, or secondary - is essential. If you have worked in mainstream education but have a strong understanding of SEN, we’d love to hear from you! You will be supporting students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health challenges, autism and ADHD. You must also be able to manage challenging behaviour confidently.
Your daily responsibilities will involve providing classroom support, encouraging students to stay engaged and focused, assisting with their learning and development. You may also be asked to supervise during breaks or support extra curricular activities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and adaptable individual who is passionate about working with children, especially those with SEN. If you’re committed to pursuing a long-term career in teaching and have a passion for SEN, this could be an ideal opportunity.
