The Role:
To be responsible for the installation of Sewerage and water networks including pump stations and rising mains for a portfolio of Projects. This will include the management of Customer relations, staff and Contractors ensuring that networks are built safely, to the correct specification and to the Groups, asset owners and Client satisfaction.
Key Objectives:
1. Responsible for managing and supervising the installation, testing and commissioning of Waste and clean water services, and associated equipment and meters in accordance with company standards and procedures.
2. Responsible for Health and Safety matters relating to the Installation and Commissioning of Networks associated with his/her portfolio of projects.
3. Act as the Companies ambassador, being courteous, professional, knowledgeable, readily contactable, and providing swift responses to enquiries from Customers employees and Contractors.
4. Manage the portfolio of projects ensuring Customer satisfaction is achieved without compromising safety and quality.
Specific Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Management of Network construction, including ongoing site meetings and liaison with the Client regarding safety, technical standards, and work programming.
2. Ensure a register of all briefings are recorded and filed accordingly.
3. Supervise that all network assets are constructed in a safe manner and as designed.
4. Manage any direct labour or Contractors employed by M&A Doocey on your portfolio of activities.
5. Maintain a comprehensive site diary and provide technical advice to the Client, Customers, Contractors, and Staff.
6. Manage productivity to ensure on-site works are delivered on time and to budget.
7. Health & safety incident investigation and reporting.
8. Record all site audits and file accordingly.
9. Ensure the prompt and satisfactory resolution of any raised ‘Corrective Actions’.
10. Carry out and record annual appraisals and competency interviews with direct reports.
Qualifications & Training:
The incumbents must have significant experience and/or qualifications as well as having a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to all or one of the following utilities; Clean and waste water networks including rising mains and pump station construction Networks. The post holder will hold:
1. NRSWA supervisory card
2. Relevant SHEA card and/or CSCS registration.
3. First Aid
4. M&A Doocey mandated internal training qualifications e.g. Key Skills
5. Confined space and deep excavation qualifications
6. Valid SMSTS competency
7. Civil Engineering qualification
Technical Skills & Experience:
In addition, the incumbent should preferably have one of the following and/or equivalent:
1. NCO3 (water) Supervisors qualification.
2. NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
3. Skilled in managing works with Microsoft Project or similar.
4. Competent in the use of Excel and Word.
