Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Physiotherapist to join our Respiratory and critical care Team for a 12 month period.
We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and innovative individual who is eager to expand their knowledge in the field of respiratory and critical care, who has a passion for assessing and treating complex respiratory patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You would see a variety of patients and lead by example with your passion for improving clinical outcomes and care provision. This is a really exciting time for our service as we continue to develop and implement change, innovation and service delivery.
Main duties of the job
You will manage a highly complex caseload of patients as a specialist in respiratory and critical care. This includes progressing ventilation weaning and tracheotomies, surgical patients recovering from complex procedures and management of chronic respiratory patients during their inpatient admission. Additionally, you will have significant experience in the management of respiratory outpatients.
You will be required to deliver training in your own discipline, and contribute to the training of other disciplines within the team. You will be an integral participant of the service development, audit and QI initiatives.
You will be a team player with good leadership skills and significant experience of supervising staff/students are essential criteria. You should have demonstrable post registration experience, ideally working at a Band 6 level, in the acute setting and with previous experience in respiratory and critical care.
You will be expected to contribute to the weekend working service at Salford Royal Hospital and the on-call respiratory service.
We place a large focus on team development, creating a safe and supportive environment and work to the Trust Values at all times. You will be well supported by the Operational/Professional Lead, the Lead PTs and the Lead therapists in the service and the wider Physiotherapy workforce.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a large, friendly and supportive team with all the benefits of working for an Outstanding Trust.
