An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Operational Helpdesk Team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust as a Helpdesk Operator.
The Operational Portering Helpdesk Team provides a helpdesk service that enables wards and departments to access Facilities services. As a Helpdesk Operator, you will assign work to our facilities teams using an IT-based Task Management System.

Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting or helpdesk environment would be desirable, although we will provide you with all the support and training you need to thrive in the role.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
The post holder will be required to work any relief shift pattern 24/7 over a 6-week rota period to provide facilities services.

Main duties of the job
As Helpdesk Operator, you will work as part of a team providing a helpdesk service for our wards and departments to enable them to access on-site Facilities services.
The Helpdesk Operator will communicate requests for work via radios effectively and efficiently using the IT-based Task Management System.
Being the first point of contact for the service, you will be courteous and polite to all service users at all times.
There may also be a requirement from time to time for the Helpdesk Operator to work within the Portering team.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* To receive incoming calls from service users requesting Facilities services.
* Accurately record the user requests onto the Task Management Database and manage the system to reflect tasks when they have been assigned/completed.
* Manage and prioritize tasks in a timely manner with regard to the urgency of the request indicated by the caller.
* Assign tasks via the radio communication system with regard to the adjacencies of Wards and Departments for the purpose of efficiency.
* Report to the Supervisor on the status of the workflow, highlighting in a timely manner when the systems are becoming busy.
* When required, the Operator will work within the portering team.
