South Lanarkshire Council are looking for a proactive and organised Bike ability Co-ordinator to cover the local authority area.
The successful candidate will work closely with local authority schools and relevant partner agencies. The role will involve the development, coordination, delivery and promotion of Bikeability Cycle Training. This will focus on Level 2 on-road cycle training in primary schools and delivering an increase in the participation of Cycle Training to the National Standard.
We seek a candidate with experience of working within a learning/ teaching environment, working with children and ideally with experience of cycling or active travel programmes. Prior experience of delivering and coordinating projects or training programmes is desirable.
You must have excellent customer care and organisational skills. You must be able to travel across the South Lanarkshire area and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
The ability to complete Cycling Scotland’s ‘Cycle Trainer’ and ‘Bikeability Scotland Instructor Trainer’ qualification is required. Key tasks and responsibilities include:
1. Provision of practical training support to schools as required.
2. Management and delivery of Bikeability Scotland Instructor Training (BSIT) courses to facilitate school staff and volunteers to deliver Bikeability Level 1 and 2 pupil training.
3. Maintaining accurate records of cycle training in schools. Collate the necessary information to support monitoring and provide statistical reports and data returns as required.
4. Promoting and increasing the uptake of Bikeability within South Lanarkshire.
5. Taking responsibility for developing, co-ordinating, delivering and promotion of Bikeability across South Lanarkshire
