Based out of Welilngborough, Eccles or Watford, Booker Group is recruiting for a Head of Trade Planning, in this role you would be targeted with unlocking magnetic value by creating and owning the Booker trade and events plans aligning to our wider Product, Sales and Customer strategy.
We are looking for candidate with trading experience, and strong interpersonal and influencing skills to collaboratively drive stakeholders to land the best trading results for Booker.
* Owning the strategy and direction of all trade and promotions plans within Booker covering both Retail and Catering
* Using multiple data sources, to drive an effective trade and events plan to deliver sales and profit to the business
* Creating, owning and delivering effective trading plans, covering product price and promotion, space, and marketing etc
* Amplify events within Booker to give customers more reasons to choose Booker, with a full year calendar of events through scoping, coordinating, executing and reviewing events
* Manage the teams to work to a critical path that allows Booker to plan further in advance
* Governance and ways of working - Owning and running effective governance of trade and events
* Working with multiple stakeholders to aid the business in trading decisions to optimise sales and profit, delivered effectively across all touch points
* Landing a new collaborative, customer first, way of working in trade and events planning
* Forecasting and managing the activity margin support budget effectively, always being cost conscious and delivery value
* Leading the supplier media income team, in working with our supply base on selling media and data opportunities, to hit supplier income budgets.
* Setting future strategy to harness further opportunities.
* Improving supplier partnerships
* Leading your team, managing performance and progression, and supporting continuous team development, championing diversity and inclusion
* Management of trade planning function and supplier media income team
* Accountability of hitting income budgets (DH and Digital)
* Accountability of trade plans hitting sales targets
* Experience of forecasting and managing investment budgets
* Influencing and Stakeholder Management skills
* Effective communication management skills
* A proven track record of making informed decisons based on analysis of data
* To demonstrate that you are customer focused and aware of the marketing, commercial and operational environment
* Trade planning and/or category management experience
* Great interpersonal skills, able to work effectively across functions
