POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting quality assurance testing on all raw materials and finished goods as needed. Additionally, the QA Lab Technician provides support for operations, shipping and receiving, administration roles, HES, and management.
This is a salary, non-exempt position that can be either 2nd or 3rd shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Follow all safety rules, regulations, operating procedures, corporate/plant policies, and laws at all times.
* Maintain a clean and safe workplace; keep equipment, counters, etc., clean.
* Participate in the plant safety culture (attend/complete training, CARE observations, enter near misses when appropriate, etc.).
* Lift up to 25 pounds safely.
* Handle industrial chemicals safely using established plant procedures.
* Willingness to wear PPE, including chemical suits, respirators, face shields, hard hats, steel-toed boots, etc.
* Conduct quality assurance testing, record data, perform calculations, communicate and interpret data, and ensure accuracy and precision of test data and equipment.
* Prioritize testing with assistance from operations, shipping, or management.
* Perform equipment calibration and maintenance.
* Maintain laboratory supplies and organize daily activities.
* Develop and maintain lab projects focused on continuous improvement, including stability studies.
* Properly dispose of waste, universal waste, and non-conforming products according to all regulatory and company requirements.
* Use SAP for relevant tasks.
* Provide training to new technicians as appropriate.
* Additional duties may include managing recertification processes, catalog purchasing, raw material receipt in SAP, supporting reviews, inventory review, record retention, filing, and assisting supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Safety conscious, reliable, with a strong work ethic.
* Minimum one year of hands-on manufacturing experience; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
* Willingness to work any shift and frequent overtime (12-hour shifts).
* Computer literate with good math skills.
* Good communication skills.
* Pass pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check.
* Authorized to work in the United States.
