Solutions Engineer X2 (UK & US)
UK (Leeds Area) - Circa £60k
The Solutions Engineer will beresponsible for tasks relating to designing and completing customerfacing Disaster Recovery implementations, smoke tests, drills, and invocations. The candidate will take direction from the Disaster Recovery Engineering lead. This role will be on part of a team responsible for ensuring the Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness of all of the client’s DR customer base, implementing new customers, and ensuring that tests go smoothly. The best candidates need to have excellent oral and written communication skills in additionto technical expertise.
Responsibilities:
* Perform Scripted and manual recoveries of multiple virtualmachines, physical machine,and application types
* Provide feedback on improvinginternal processes and customer facingprocesses
* Troubleshoot and maintain
* Customer runbooks
* Methods of recovery within the environment
* Supported DR infrastructure
* Assist customers in troubleshooting technical issues relatedto recovery
* Switch and Firewall configuration (pfSense)
* Assist in troubleshooting of complex supportissues
* Complete documentation of process / procedures and diagrams of completed work in JIRA and Zendesk.
Qualifications:
* Associates / bachelor’s in systems administration or equivalent work Experience or Technical certifications
* Minimum of 10 years working with IT systems
Experience with:
* Virtualization systems(VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V)
* Network configurations (IP addressing, Gateways, DNS, etc.)
* PfSense firewall setup and configuration
* Engineering tools for troubleshooting connectivity
* SQL Server conceptual and basic understanding
* Enterprise backupand recovery solutionsof virtual environments
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications
* Excellent writtenand oral communication skills
* Advanced proficiency in Windowsand Linux Operating systems
* Active Directory Experience
* Bare Metal Recovery processes for Linux and or Microsoft operating systems
This position may requiresome travel, less than 10%
