We’re looking for
someone who is innovative, data driven and thinks outside the box. You’ll love solving a puzzle and making things more efficient through combining logic and innovation. At school and university, you’ll likely have enjoyed Maths, IT, data and analytics and will have strong skills in IT packages such as Excel.
To be our next Solutions expert, you’ll be provided with exciting and challenging operational placements and on the job training, with full support from your direct team, the Learning and Development team and your senior mentor.
We guarantee you a job at the end of the programme and the programme is set up that you learn the fundamentals of how our business operates and then move into your Solution Design role.
In year one, your role will be working as part of our operational teams, learning the day to day of logistics and how all our teams work together to bring our customers exceptional service. You’ll spend time in varied roles, across both Warehousing and Transport sites, whether dedicated XPO sites or on our varied customer sites, giving you exposure and an opportunity for learning which is unparalleled.
You could be planning routes for our transport teams, planning labour requirements, managing inventory, mastering the understanding of Health & Safety or working to improve how the site is running or how the warehouse is laid out to work best.
In year two, you’ll be based in our carbon neutral head office in Crick, working alongside the Solutions Design team. Here you’ll begin to put your operational knowledge into practise and contribute to the projects your team is working on.
In a nutshell, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with lots of things, so we’re looking for graduates that are inquisitive, love learning and want to be part of something big!
Pay, benefits and more:
1. A guaranteed job at the end of the scheme
2. Salary will start at £28,000 per annum and will rise to £XX per annum after 12 months
3. 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days
4. Access to a variety of colleague perks such as salary sacrifice car schemes, wellbeing and medical benefits, high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and other perks
Key Info:
5. This is a 2-year programme split into two, giving new graduates, like you, the opportunity to gain tangible experience in the operation and then bring it into your design role
6. Your placements could be anywhere in the UK and you’ll be based on site, so you’re emersed in the job. You’ll need to be open to relocating or travel to ensure you can learn as much as possible
7. We'll support you by putting you up in a hotel when you start and when you move placements, until you find somewhere you’ll love living
8. The programme is all about learning our business, so when you’re on placement, you’ll be learning on the job, working with your peers and gaining lots of knowledge
What you will gain:
9. Visibility, exposure and experience working in the operation and directly with our customers
10. Long lasting relationships and the advantage of working with a senior mentor
11. Qualifications that will be essential to your role
12. You can get personalised with your upskilling too, perhaps you’re interested in becoming a Mental Health First Aider or you want to focus on something you’re passionate about
13. Full access to our own learning management system, XPO University which will inspire your ongoing development
What you need to succeed at XPO:
14. Be a graduate
15. Have a driving licence
16. The successful candidate must by the start of their employment have permission to work in the UK permanently
17. Have a passion for logistics and not be afraid of hard work
18. Be curious and keen to learn – our operations are evolving fast and you’ll need to evolve with them
19. Be willing to travel across the UK throughout the programme
Applications close on 28th February 2025.
