They are a forward-thinking and innovative manufacturing business with a focus on delivering high-quality digital print solutions throughout Europe. Following significant investment in new, state-of-the art printing technology, they are continuing the expansion of their production team and are looking for motivated individuals to join their plant based in the heart of Kent.
Role Overview:
My client is looking for an experienced and proactive Production Planner to oversee the scheduling of their artwork studio and print production processes. This role is key to ensuring seamless project execution, from pre-production planning to final delivery, while maintaining high standards and efficiency. The successful candidate will coordinate schedules, lead pre-production meetings, and collaborate closely with account management to meet system-calculated SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and Schedule: Develop and manage comprehensive production schedules across artwork studio and print production, ensuring resources are optimised and deadlines are met.
2. Pre-Production Meetings: Lead pre-production meetings with account managers and production teams to clarify project requirements, set expectations, and address potential challenges.
3. Critical Path Analysis (CPA): Create and maintain CPAs for each project, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
4. Collaboration with Account Management: Work closely with the account management team to ensure project schedules align with client expectations and SLAs, providing regular updates on production progress.
5. Monitor SLAs and KPIs: Track and report on key production metrics, ensuring all projects meet internal and client SLAs.
6. Resource Allocation: Coordinate with studio and production teams to allocate resources effectively based on project requirements and production capacity.
7. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline production planning and scheduling, enhancing overall productivity and efficiency.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in production planning or a similar role within production or artwork management.
2. Good understanding of artwork and/or print production processes.
3. Experience creating and managing CPAs and leading pre-production meetings.
4. Ability to work collaboratively across departments, especially with account management and production teams.
5. Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
6. Familiarity with production management systems and scheduling tools.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present production schedules and updates to stakeholders.
