What skills and experience we're looking for
The Deputy Headteacher will be responsible and accountable for defined aspects of the running of the academy, under the leadership of the Headteacher. The Deputy Headteacher will also be required to deputise for the Headteacher in their absence. Under the leadership of the Headteacher, the post will take strategic and operational responsibility for areas of leadership and the line management of associated staff. The role of the Deputy Headteacher is to provide crucial support to assist the Headteacher in the delivery and execution of leading and managing academy. Provide vision, leadership and direction to the staff, students and other stakeholders for their defined areas of responsibility and within the LCT ethos, policies and structures. Effectively manage key areas of responsibility. Ensure the best outcomes for students both in terms of attainment and progress. Promote excellence, equality and high expectations for all students. Manage and support academy performance and identify priorities for continuous improvement; ensure effective day to day management, organisation and administration; maintain very strong relationships with the community, stakeholders and partners. Work with the Headteacher and other senior leaders to create a safe and productive learning environment which is engaging and fulfilling for all students so that learners enjoy their education. Contribute to building a professional learning community within the school and Trust. The Deputy Headteacher will support the Headteacher in the execution of strategic objectives and the operational activities to achieve academy goals.
