Oncology PharmacistSalary: £60,000 We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Oncology Pharmacist to join our dynamic team in Harlow. The successful candidate will support the Lead Oncology Pharmacist in overseeing daily Oncology operations, contributing to the training and development of the team, and ensuring the delivery of best practices. This role involves collaboration with the Oncology team to complete tasks safely and effectively.Key Responsibilities:Subject Matter Expert: Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice for patient care. Perform clinical verification of prescriptions according to GPhC & BOPA guidelines. Offer timely, expert clinical advice to medical and nursing staff. Support continuous improvement within Central Pharmacy operations. Collaborate with external departments to provide efficient and safe care, promoting a “one-team” approach. Assist in maintaining an organised facility, ensuring colleague training and assessment. Contribute to business projects and Key Value Drivers. Support onboarding of new business and patients; develop new prescription templates. Resolve departmental queries and prescription issues promptly. Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain consistent service levels. Develop training materials and provide operational and clinical training. Develop and maintain electronic prescribing system templates. Participate in departmental audits. Foster an inclusive, respectful, and effective work environment.Regulatory: Ensure compliance with SOPs and best practices in prescription processing. Adhere to standards set by regulatory bodies, including RPSGB and GPhC. Accurately record process non-conformance, near-misses, and non-compliance. Stay up-to-date with mandatory training. Review and ensure operational processes comply with GMP and MHRA standards. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will be a GPhC-registered pharmacist, ideally with experience working in a hospital or home healthcare environment. Much of the role involves checking for accuracy, so strong attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to stay focused over long periods of time. Other qualities you’ll need include excellent communication skills, a systematic approach and a commitment to continuous professional development. Qualifications, Training & Experience:•Experience working on Oncology wards.•Experience in clinically screening Oncology SACT prescriptions.•IV Oncology experience•Involvement in ordering chemotherapy.•Proficiency in using and managing electronic prescribing systems for Oncology patients (e.g., iQemo).•Ideally, a post-graduate qualification specialising in Oncology.•Evidence of training with BOPA, such as the SACT Passport, is preferred.•Experience in clinical decision-making.•Experience in training and upskilling members of a pharmacy team.
